Wooden spoon / rengé - gintsugi mended chip

This wooden spoon was purchased in Kyoto and met an unfortunate accident, jammed in an utensil drawer, chipping the tip. Getting advice from various sources; from Urushi shop workers, a teacher, looking at various books and blog posts, this piece is a labor of love. Decorative motif is inspired by a nearby creak, this piece melds the natural beauty of Northern California and a traditional Japanese craft.
